Famous Kenyan Captain Eric Agolla Lugalia, controversial interview in a multimillion case with a city bank has raised questions years after he admitted to defrauding a businessman of a piece of land valued at Sh250M.

This comes after the controversial man of the sky held a press conference in an attempt to sway the court to reject a plea by Stanbic Bank executives, who seek to halt police investigations.

Lugalia is not known for fraud-related activities and has for years battled the fraud case at the Milimani courts.

Our investigations show that the scandal-hit pilot is the owner of Air Afrik Aviation Ltd which is at the centre of the Sh722M war.

A few days ago, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) started probing the Stanbic bank bosses and the bank bosses moved to the high court to stop the probe.

Lugalia after noticing the development moved with speed and countered the bank’s application with his exclusive press conference to try and sway the court.

In a bid to substantiate his claims, Lugalia referenced the constitution, insisting that he was the one wronged in the matter. He has since filed an application requesting that the court compel further investigations into the bank’s executives, which he claims would provide clarity and exonerate him.

The case has attracted public interest, as it also involves Stanbic Bank’s CEO Joshua Oigara, who challenged a DCI  summons related to the dispute. Oigara, who was recently summoned to provide statements regarding the prolonged disagreement between the bank and Lugalia’s aviation company, argues that the case was previously investigated and cleared by regulatory authorities.

Lugalia, who faces additional claims in court related to financial disputes, remains firm in his stance, alleging his company’s rights have been compromised. The case continues to unfold, with both sides presenting arguments aimed at shaping the investigation’s course.
